Rapid.Tech on the road to success: level of registrations triples

New markets, new trends

International: Rapid.Tech opens up new markets
Specialist programme: New trends in sight

At the end of November 2015, one thing is already clear: the Erfurt conference and trade fair Rapid.Tech can expect record levels of attendance. The current number of registrations for the 14th fair, which will take place in June 2016, is three times higher than at the same point last year.

“We are expecting all the market leaders, as well as a whole range of new companies,” says Messe Erfurt CEO Wieland Kniffka. The most prominent newcomer is currently Keyence, a global supplier of components for automation technology.

At the same time, the international advisory board, which has recently been strengthened with representatives from Siemens and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, took the decision at the end of November to develop the conference programme and increase the international profile of Rapid.Tech. As well as the German-speaking region, in future, advertising for exhibitors and visitors will also be targeted at markets in the Netherlands and selected eastern European countries.

Messe Erfurt is showcasing the latest developments in additive manufacturing with its four new specialist forums: Additive contract manufacturing, 3D metal printing, Automotive industry and Electronics. As before, the Science, Tools, Aviation, Medical Technology, Dental Technology and Construction expert forums and the user conferences will provide excellent platforms for sector experts to exchange information and present new applications and products.

For the very first time, we are pleased to welcome the CAE-FORUM to the trade fair. The CAE-FORUM is a communication and networking platform for industry 4.0 exchanges which are not linked to any particular company, sector or solver. The joint exhibition stand offers a central port of call in Erfurt for both research & development and production. Focal points include CAD, CAM, numeric simulation and 3D visualisation in the context of additive manufacturing.

Rapid.Tech & FabCon 3.D
The Rapid.Tech trade fair and user conference is squarely aimed at users and developers of additive manufacturing technologies. With participants from over 18 countries, it is one of the most important informational events in Europe. With its unique mix of think tank and application-focused exhibition, it offers plenty of opportunity for discussion and dialogue between newcomers to the field, experts, researchers and users – in both theory and practice. 150 exhibitors, over 4,000 trade visitors and more than 700 conference participants from Europe and around the globe are expected in Erfurt from 14 to 16 June 2016. Since 2013, Rapid.Tech has been flanked by FabCon 3.D, which focuses on people with an interest outside the traditional industries. This is a meeting point both for creative start-ups and for experts and major players in the 3D printing community. The 3D Printing Conference held alongside the world-class trade fair as part of FabCon 3.D has quickly established itself as an important international forum in its own right. Key themes for the conference, which attracts creative professionals, designers, newcomers and industry experts from Europe and overseas, will include the areas of food printing, design and architecture. Training, copyright law, business start-ups and business models in the 3D printing sector will also be covered.
