AIM3D GmbH is a spin-off of the University of Rostock that has set itself the goal of significantly reducing the costs of additive manufacturing.
AIM3D GmbH has its background at the Chair of Fluid Technology at the University of Rostock. Experience from numerous research projects in the field of additive manufacturing, e.g. in the area of binder jetting, EBM processes, stereolithography and FDM processes, have contributed to the development of the company's own CEM process.
The biggest hurdles for the broader industrial use of additive manufacturing were and still are high material and machine costs, as well as limitations in material availability.
As a solution, AIM3D GmbH has developed a multi-material printer that offers its customer a significantly more cost-effective and previously unattainable choice of materials based on standard injection moulding granulates.
