"Quality First" - WAAM structures for aviation

With over 60 years of experience in the welding production of highly stressed aerospace structures, HEGGEMANN AG has further developed and industrialized the additive WAAM process (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) in recent years.

The optimization of manufacturing processes for aircraft parts also plays a key role on the road to sustainable aviation. Against this backdrop, the industry is very interested in material- and energy-efficient additive processes for the production of near-net-shape metallic semi-finished products. With over 60 years of experience in the welding production of highly stressed aerospace structures, HEGGEMANN AG has further developed and industrialized the additive WAAM process (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) in recent years in order to produce near-net-shape semi-finished products with less material input. From the very beginning, the focus has been on reproducibly ensuring aerospace-grade material quality, for example by digitalizing the entire process chain from the 3D model to the digital chain of custody.
